Application Procedures:
UO undergraduate students may participate for either the semester or the full academic year, during their sophomore, junior, or senior years.  In addition, the CIMBA summer term may be "added on" to the spring semester or full academic year programs, but UO students may not select it as an independent term.  Students should complete, by the UO application deadline, both the CIMBA application (as described in this website) and the UO study abroad application. Once students have completed the UO application, they will be contacted for an interview, at which time the rest of the application process will be outlined.  Both The CIMBA Office and The UO Study Abroad Office require a letter of recommendation.  Students do not need to send in a separate letter of recommendation to both offices.  Students may submit their letter of recommendation to the The CIMBA Office, who will then submit their letter of recommendation to The UO Office on the student's behalf.  The UO Office cannot submit a letter of recommendation to The CIMBA Office on the student's behalf.  This is a new update.  Please note, student's who have already submitted their letter of recommendation to The UO Office prior, arrangements are being made to get your recommendation to The CIMBA Office.  You will be notified of any issues.

Payment Procedures:
UO students will make all CIMBA payments directly, following procedures outlined elsewhere in this website. Students who plan to pay CIMBA with financial aid funds will need to make an appointment with Marj Biehler in the UO Study Abroad Programs, to complete their CIMBA financial aid payment form.  Make an appointment with Ms. Biehler AFTER you have been interviewed for the Paderno program in Study Abroad Programs AND after you have your UO financial aid award letter in hand.  To schedule, call (541) 346-3207.

The UO will invoice the UO study abroad fee and Italian visa processing fee directly to student accounts on the normal billing schedule (e.g., October 1 due date for fall term).  Students also will pay their major "resource fee" (though students in the School of Journalism and Communication may request a waiver through Greg Kerber). Other UO fees and regular tuition (resident and nonresident) are waived during the terms of study abroad participation.
