Ilya joined the CIMBA staff as a Campus Life Coordinator in the Fall of 2010. Having studied in Paderno del Grappa as undergraduate in the Summer of 2003, Ilya is excited to return to Italy and continue to build on the great friendships and memories.
Ilya grew up in the Atlanta area and attended the University of Georgia from 2001 - 2006, earning undergraduate degrees in Economics and Accounting, as well as Masters in Accounting. As a student, Ilya was involved in a number of activities including being a member of the Leonard Leadership Scholar Program, serving as the student president of the Honors Program, and founding a non-profit aimed at providing tutoring and mentorship opportunities for disadvantaged youth.
After graduation, Ilya’s interests led him in a number of directions including spending a year in Cape Town, South Africa as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, serving as a Faculty Fellow at an Atlanta area school, and working as a consultant for a boutique management consulting firm. Ilya is also an avid sports fan, helping coach basketball teams to a South African university provincial championship and a Georgia high school state championship.
The CIMBA undergraduate program was Ilya’s first study abroad experience and made a profound impact on his professional and personal aspirations. He hopes to promote a similar experience for incoming students as they embark on the academic, cultural, and culinary adventures of this tremendous program.
